Our good friend, Glen Lord, is an avid bonsai artist with over 15 years in the art form. He spent seven years teaching and making bonsai at Bonsai West, the oldest bonsai nursery in the Northeast. He is also the bonsai specialist for the Larz Anderson Bonsai Collection that is housed at The Arnold Arboretum. Glen will be giving a demonstration of some of the basic principles of bonsai care and culture here in New England. He will be using some material from the nursery to demonstrate design and styling ideas as well as repotting and aftercare.

Andy and Chris will each present and compare a range of plants native to both countries. Come join in the fun and learn about the difference within individual plant genera that are shared by these two countries of great horticultural prominence.

Join our Perennial Plant Manager Carl Galanter who will be armed to the hilt and assist you in vanquishing those fears of dividing. Timing of and the techniques used for dividing will be demonstrated on plants in containers and ones removed from the garden. Hands on demolition will be encouraged; the gauntlet has been thrown, in which case you may go home with the spoils.
