A fun variegated clone of lacebark elm that has garnered much attention through the years. Plants showcase diminutive leaves that emerge completely white in spring. At first emergence the leaves are less than 1/2" in length but seem to expand to 1" or more as spring turns to summer. As the season develops the leaves also begin to develop green zones, a valuable trait as this is likely the means by which the plants are able to harvest light energy and grow. Leaves remain colorful throughout the year, always drawing attention with some quantity of white always present. In youth, plants offer a shubby framework growing 4-6" annually under container culture. In the ground, with good fertility the growth can be more significant. Ultimate proportions are still unknown though we're thinking 12-15' is realistic over a 20 year time period.
