A smaller, upright form than the species with 12" tall fine-textured, medium green leaf blades. Light-brown flower panicles, with a unique, cilantro-like fragrance, reach 24" tall and bloom from August through October. Seed pods, heavy at maturity, bend from the weight and drop their seed, hence the name. The fall foliage transforms to an intense, reddish-orange glow. Plant this prairie grass in full sun in dry to medium soils.
