The species of this mayapple refers to the boxy, irregularly shaped leaves that appear on top of 12-18" tall stems. Light and dark green mottling appear on the puckered foliage. In late spring clusters of maroon-red flowers dangle underneath the foliage. Plant in a woodland garden where the soil the moist soil has good drainage. Out of this world!
