The 8-10" glossy-green foliage with creamy-white edges makes this wood rush a worthwhile groundcover for the shade garden. Tiny light-brown flower clusters float above the grass-like leaves in May. They prefer some moisture but are easy to grow in most soils and are tolerant of dry conditions. This wood rush is semi-evergreen in our zone 6 climate.
