A highly variable species native to select regions of Japan, China and Taiwan where it is represented by both deciduous and evergreen forms. Plants typically show off high gloss, deep green leaves with angled margins and have the capacity to reach 5-6' in height and spread. The lacecap flowers are present from late spring to early summer and combine large, pure white, sterile florets with unique cream-yellow fertile flowers.
