With all the new hellebores hitting the market these days the Christmas Rose should still be at the top of the plant list. It’s one of the earliest hellebores to bloom with flowers opening from February to March. The 9-12” tall, leathery, blue-green foliage looks fresh all season long and because of its smaller stature will work well in the front of a partly shady border. ‘Potter’s Wheel’ has pink buds that open to stunning pure white flowers that attain an enormous 3” diameter; bright yellow stamens complete the show. Prefers a well-drained site rich in organic matter.
