This western US native has been growing in our beds for some years and many of our customers have asked about it. We finally got our hands on some seed and it is now available. Striking 3-4" thick, oval, silver-green foliage adorns 24-30" tall stems. Clusters of pale-green to yellow flowers appear in late July and are tucked in between the leaves. Also referred to as the corn-kernel milkweed because of the individual flowers resemblance to maize. This species has the reputation of being tough as nails, withstanding harsh environmental conditions. Plant in a sunny site with soils having good drainage.
